Katherine West - Director of Research & OPerations

Katherine West has a diverse background which has spanned a variety of sectors. After graduating from the University of Hull in Estuarine and Coastal Science, her early career was pursued with the Environment Agency, where she spent 13 years monitoring, analysing and reporting against work programs for the area management team; advising on areas of concern and undertaking significant work force planning during change processes.

She subsequently diversified her work portfolio, which has largely been  research based and customer focussed. She has been the senior researcher for a probate research company and worked for two members of parliament in Suffolk.

Katherine has a passion for young people and education, being a former chair of governors and is currently County Commissioner for Girlguiding Suffolk.

Katherine has recently joined the University of Suffolk as an Honorary Visiting Senior Fellow in Research Methods and Environmental Ethics. She is the lay member of the University’s Ethics Committee.

She works closely with the Directors of assignment based research and on our thought leadership publications at https://www.wildsearch.org/research
