JOHN SOUTHWORTH
Senior Advisor, Education
John is a former Chair of the Independent Schools Association and worked with Wild Search as a client before joining the team in 2023 as Senior Adviser. His final leadership role was as Principal of MPW London, the leading independent college in London.
Prior to MPW, John was Principal of Lansdowne College after being Director of Co-Curricular, Marketing and Admissions at the Perse School. He joined MPW In 2014 as Vice Principal and was promoted to Principal in 2016. As such John has an extensive network on which to draw and to enrich searches for leadership roles in the independent sector, whether charities, investor supported or proprietorial schools and groups.
An Engineering graduate, during his earlier career John served in the British Army for 21 years, retiring as a Major in the Royal Artillery.
An ISI Inspector, John is also a governor of Highfield Priory School and chairs its Education and Compliance Committee and Strategic Adviser and Board member of SchoolTV, an online wellbeing and mental health platform.
John divides his time between Yorkshire and London.
