STRATEGIC EDUCATION AND SKILLS DIRECTOR

Wild Search are advising the City of London on this key appointment within the Community and Children’s Services Department.

Reporting to the Director of Community and Children’s Services, the Strategic Education and Skills Director leads the Education Strategy Unit and oversees delivery of the Education Strategy, the Cultural and Creative Learning Strategy and the Skills Strategy working closely with the family of schools and the Corporation’s other education and skills partners. They will also engage with both the Chair of Policy and Resources and Chair of the Education Board, amongst others, in the execution of this key role within the Corporation.

The Strategic Education and Skills Director will lead the City Corporation’s lifelong learning and skills services, placing learners at the heart of the strategy, and shape the future direction ensuring their needs and aspirations are met. They will act on behalf of the Corporation as academy sponsor, maintaining a positive relationship with the City of London Academies Trust, ensuring the schools are aligned to the strategic goals and there is strong leadership and management at a school-level that delivers positive outcomes for the pupils. They will also oversee the apprentice programme ensuring the programmes delivered are of excellent quality and the apprentices reach the highest standards.
